Before WWE could truly introduce the new influx of ladies' wrestling, it expected to pass the light.
The organization achieved that at its Night of Champions (2015) pay-per-view occasion last September by setting Nikki Bella up against Charlotte. Nikki entered the match as the longest-running Divas Champion in WWE history.
What's more, she looked each piece ready to shield her crown, taking a shot at the leg of Charlotte much like Bret Hart used to do to relax up his challengers for their Sharpshooter end once upon a time.
But for Nikki's situation, she wasn't debilitating Charlotte's leg as a setup for an accommodation move. It was more to ruin falling a casualty to Ric Flair's girl's vaunted Figure Eight. Nikki's outline to remain champ was working from the start until she scaled the ropes, searching for a sprinkle off the second turnbuckle. Rather than associating, Charlotte nailed her with a lance.
What's more, the Divas champ was ready for the picking, as Charlotte secured her father's Figure Four, broadening it into her Figure Eight extension and getting Nikki to tap out in the focal point of the ring. It was a helluva match and vital minute as the Nature Boy himself grasped his girl, who has the refinement of being the last WWE Divas champion and first WWE Women's champion. Leaving a mark on the world simply like her father — Woooo!
